Sound of Colours

Over the past 13 episodes Ruby and Wallace’s acting has not faltered at all, which I think is spectacular. They don’t only act as though their feelings are genuine; their emotions and acting are realistic. They show all of this to their friends and family in the drama as well. Which I think is and importance and key to a brilliant drama. I have also begun to get used to their over dubbed voices; this I don’t find such a burden to the drama anymore, the actions and the way the drama is set up completely overwrites that minor problem.

Jing Jing’s feelings and emotions really are deep with concern to her past (ref ep 12). Yun Xiang also holds deep feelings and concerns regarding the past and everything that happened.

Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo’s chemistry isn’t just convincing it is very natural; their body language together I think is superb! To me they look like a real couple, even after she finds out his identity, you can see it as though it is being played out before your very eyes. I think it’s wonderful to finally find another drama like this as I don’t always enjoy watching fake feelings. You can feel their emotions in this drama even if they are only a character.

Ming Ming is getting a change of heart towards Fan Yang after what he did for her, it’s cute how her cold demeanor is becoming warmer, and she also seems very happy around him and enjoys the praise he gives her. I like the gradual feelings that Ming Ming and Fan Yang build for eachother. They are beginning to show curiousity about eachother and caring more for one another. They try to help eachother in work and their conversations between one another is less tense (ref ep 13).

Ming Ming unexpectedly meets Yun Xiang; as the drama progresses the fact Yun Xiang keeps getting light headed, dizzy or even ends up fainting clearly indicates that this will subtly build up and create some kind of problem or climax to the drama in the future (ref ep 13). I also now understand why Fan Yang, was so startled after seeing Yun Xiang on the floor, I can see their connection to one another now.

Li Na, still irritates me. Her pursuits of Cheng Gao are successful but she still holds a grudge against Jing Jing? She also seems to interfere with her personal matters ¬¬. Dan Dan still prefers Jing Jing over Li Na. I can see Li Na is targeting Cheng Gao’s heart through Dan Dan’s acceptance of her. Which even though it’s nice she is trying it is confusing Dan Dan because she is only young but she isn’t doing it with complete honesty and not by herself she is using Dan Dan as a booster and starting point.

So, very subtly things are beginning to change and take form in the drama. I look forward to seeing these changes unfold as I continue to watch and review this drama! Keep checking for more updates!

I’m really sorry that recently I have been unable to upload reviews, as for one I’ve been feeling ill lately and I’ve had to do a lot of essays and coursework as it’s my final year and mock exams are getting closer and closer :O Anyway, here is the second installment of Sound of Colours.

I really love how kind hearted Jing Jing is but she lets people walk all over her. Just because she is blind its like she can’t decide anything for herself, according to other people. Also, due to the fact of her part over not having her operations, it shows her privacy and space being invaded, I actually begin to realize how strong willed Jing Jing really is. I feel sorry for Fan Yang trying to deal with his unrequited love for Ming Ming, as she does get too rash with her words and is really oblivious. Her memory from the accident actually made me cry (Referring Ep 8). I do really admire their sisterly bond.

I really think that Yun Xiang’s feelings for Jing Jing are exceptionally fast, but it really is cute how he tunes into her radio station, also the director working with Ming Ming is really slimey :/ I still cannot warm to Tan Li Na she still has something about her I don’t like. Awww, Jing Jing waits there to meet Xiao Chen, but it’s a bit creepy how she follows her?

I feel really sorry for Ming Ming, she has to contend with so much. Aww Fan Yang saves the day (referring ep 8) I don’t get why she’s hiding though. Maybe she’s slowly beginning to get a change of feelings? I do love the emotional tension in the storyline and the acting! Crying, laughing; it all looks so real and none of the actors seem at a push and they make it all so natural to me. I still don’t understand why Fan Yang just doesn’t confess tbh ¬¬. It’s a shame she can’t face Fan Yang 😦 (referring ep 9)

I think Xiao Chen is very immature, all for the love of Yun Xiang, who doesn’t even see her like that. To say that Jing Jing doesn’t know her place is really selfish and she’s completely oblivious to the fact it’s her who doesn’t know her own place (referring ep 8). I love their dog; Baby! 😀

I don’t understand in some ways, why Jing Jing should be wiped out of the scheme of things, just because Tan Li Na likes Cheng Gao. I personally, would find it strange if Jing Jing did choose Cheng Gao :/ Aww Yun Xiang has a present for Jing Jing! I have to admit Xin Hua is trying really hard to become a good manga artist, on that note, I’m still wondering what happened to Yun Xiang’s manga he was producing about Jing Jing at the beginning of the drama?

I hate how Xiao Chen lied, that’s really bratty, I really wish I could just hit her around the head, she’s the irritating actress that you find in dramas..that you can’t resist an urge just to mute her whining voice and hate the character that is portrayed :L!

Even if the relationship between Jing Jing and Yun Xiang was fast but the feelings are so sincere, oh my days he said I Love You – aww my heart just skipped a beat, that is so cute! I love the little drawing rather that it costing any money it was sincere and from the heart. It really is cute. Well, atleast that blip with Xiao Chen has been resolved, and Jing Jing accepts him! That is so cute!

One thing I hate is gossips ¬¬ and Director Li, what an ass! Who the hell does he think he is? (referring ep 10) Tan Li Na, I must admit is good with Dan Dan tbh, it’s even cuter how Jing Jing is helping people with their love problems….and whatever Yun Xiang is making it looks like a clay portrait of Jing Jing? (referring ep 10) I still find it cruel how they are delving into Jing Jing’s private life. I still think Yun Xiang is really kind hearted to Jing Jing, but I hate how the people stare at her in the supermarket (referring ep 10). Aww those two on the ferris wheel! Yet, If I remember correctly what happened about him going with his father? Unless thats further forward.

Aww poor Fan Yang, he’s only trying to do what’s right, and it’s nice how Ming Ming wants to help Fan Yang. I reckon it’s going to be a difficult and rocky love relationship beginning for Fan Yang and Ming Ming. I love how she returns the favour to Fan Yang with the food and a coffee. How cute! In concern to Xiao Chen, I agree with Xin Hua when he said she can’t express her feelings properly. I can’t believe how prejudiced people are to blind people, but it’s still cute how Dan Dan rang Jing Jing, and Dan Dan doesn’t like Tan Li Na LOL! It’s cute how Jing Jing goes to see Dan Dan, and Yun Xiang gave Tan Li Na…yet another owning 😛

So, in conclusion things are actually being thrown left right and centre as the story is beginning and lots of things are happening in order to make it a good storyline. To get things to be wrapped up and understandable I’ll have to continue watching so please, await the part 3 of my Sound of Colours review!

Shamefully, during this drama I can still notice the voice overs.

I have only seen one other drama very similar to this but that was Orange Days, a japanese drama. I have never seen a drama of Wallace Huo’s or Ruby Lin’s. I was very intrigued by this drama but never took my time to actually watch it, as I was judging it by sight. I know from research whilst watching this drama, that it was actually from a Korean illustration. I now have an urge to find this and look at it for myself. I recently wrote myself a list of dramas to rewatch and of new ones to see and so far I have rewatched half of Love Contract. I have also seen two dramas for the first time; Love Storm and Love Queen. I didn’t feel an urge to publish or write a review on either of the two dramas. I was going to watch Silence but Sound of Colours seemed to stick in my mind.

So I began watching it, I was instantly compelled by it. I have so far finished episode 7, and will do episodes 8+ later but as I don’t buy my dramas, only a few that I really enjoyed from start to finish, I must wait patiently for the uploaders (I think this is going to be a special drama to be bought). Anyway, I found the drama spilling with chemistry from the very start – Wallace isn’t an actor for nothing, he truly surprised me as some can be judgemental toward his acting and he is also of an older generation of actors as is Ruby Lin. Wallace is very attractive and his acting just made me want to watch more, he had a soft complexion and I found he had very feminine features but because of the drama being rather a soft romantic, I thought it fit amazingly. Ruby to be able to pull off an acting performance of a blind woman and make it seem so authentic for me to think it was real, I thought it was outstanding, because if you think about human nature and for people with sight, we tend to – by habit; turn and look at the people we are speaking to knowing exactly where they are and when we need something we search with out eyes only using our hands as an aid to get what we want, she was unable to do that. When she was spoken to or had to find something she had to put herself in the shoes of a blind person. The support acting was very convincing, I liked how it all clicked together and their links to eachother. Usually a story plot of the drama isn’t brought together in the beginning but at the end, for instance when you watch a drama you know who the main characters are but without too much research you don’t discover their link to one another or how they end up unless you watch the whole drama from start to finish, but in this one the links and the plot was as clear as daylight, since at the start the links were put into place and within the first two episodes you are thrown into a whirlwind of a drama. They get together on a whim and only based on minor feelings in the beginning. They take a leap of faith with eachother. Through some twisted fate they are brought together from a brief meeting in their past, and this meeting from then changes her life forever. He hides the past and the fact he was the person who deprived her of regaining her sight, with knowing he is to blame, and through her radio station she has he apologises to her with so much sincerity it makes her cry, before that kindly offering his umbrella, without knowing it is her. He is fascinated by her, knowing later that she is the girl from his part and not revealing the truth, as of yet, he takes it upon himself to understand her. From the giving of that umbrella he begins a manga project on a story based upon her. He suddenly wants to be her boyfriend, very early on and even thought, usually I find a drama with that plotline a complete mess this drama was nothing of the sort. He falls for her very fast and she grows feelings quickly towards him in order to reciprocate what he feels. Even though she is blind, she is so kind hearted so you can understand why not just Lu Xiang likes her, she is also indeed very pretty, and I have said before; plain women are much more attractive than women who try so hard with cosmetics. Less is more basically.

The chemistry between the actors is astounding, I felt as though I could feel their emotions I wanted to understand their feelings, which is rare for me to find in a drama, when I review a drama only in some situations I feel a compelling need to watch the drama and want to understand the character and this is only subtle, but in this drama from when I began watching to when I physically had to stop myself, I felt a strong urge. The acting was so natural and free flowing, you didn’t see any cringeworthy pieces of acting or anything that would seem as if it was a forced piece of acing to portray the character and none of it seemed over the top and none of it was as if the actor or actresses were trying to hard on their behalfs either.

One thing I did notice, was the voice dubs, I noticed this and found it strange in the beginning then I understood that their real voices had been dubbed over which was a shame and minorly spoiled the beautiful acting as some voices didn’t fit the character, it would have fit the drama better if it was the actor and actresses real voices. So, so far I am extremely satisfied with this drama and very happy I decided to take the time and watch it.
